Know the Stars - The Suite Life of Zack CodyThis is a featured page

~Dylan Sprouse~
Zachary "Zack" Martin (Dylan Sprouse) is always getting into trouble. Zack is usually dressed in skater clothes. He often sets out to get exactly what he wants. He has an obsession with girls. He has a crush on Maddie in the first season, though from the second season onward, little is said concerning whether he still has a crush on her. He occasionally sticks up for his brother, as seen in the episodes "Election", "Kept Man" and "Who's the Boss". He wants to be like his dad, Kurt. Other than in wood shop, he is known for not doing well in school.
Zack has a more "cool" attitude and does not have as much knowledge or common sense as Cody because Zack's mind is full of thoughts relating to girls and video games. While he is not the best student academically, in the episode Books & Birdhouses he showed that he is extremely apt at wood shop, to the point that his teacher decided to recommend him for advanced placement wood shop.
He and his brother are both are huge fans of the Boston Red Sox, and hate the New York Yankees. He likes skateboarding, basketball, and soccer all which he is good at. He is always playing pranks on his twin brother and is a lot messier than Cody is.

~Cole Sprouse~
Cody Martin (Cole Sprouse) is the intellectual, mature, and sensitive twin, but he often plays along with his brother's crazy schemes. He shows less interest in girls than his brother, but he gets most of the girls even though he always says that Zack always gets the girl. He does seem to flirt a lot with a girl named Barbara Brownstein, but they are constantly competing on who is smarter. He has shown a passion for baking, cleaning, and cooking, as well as mime and dance. Cody is portrayed as easily frightened, but has a meaner and greedier side, portrayed in several episodes. Other than woodshop Cody is known for doing well in school.

Know the Stars - The Suite Life of Zack Cody - Disney Channel WorldMadeline "Maddie" Fitzpatrick (Ashley Tisdale) Her full name is "Madeline Margaret Genevieve Miranda Catherine Fitzpatrick". She is the teenage candy-counter girl at the Tipton Hotel, a cashier at the Cluck Bucket, counselor for her school's summer camp program, and is now in Antarctica according to London in "First Day of High School" and manages the Camp Tipton Daycare Center. While she comes from a lower class family, Maddie is very hard-working, outspoken, and intelligent. She attended private school at Our Lady of Perpetual Sorrow, but now she is attending Cheevers High School with Zack, Cody, and London. Maddie is London's closest friend, though London often treats her like a servant, as in "Footloser", usually bribing her with money. Maddie also babysits Zack and Cody. Zack has a huge crush on her in Season 1, however the crush turns on and off during Seasons 2-3. She is a strong supporter of environmental causes and she dreams of going to Paris and wants to go to law school.

Know the Stars - The Suite Life of Zack Cody - Disney Channel WorldLondon Tipton, (Brenda Song) is the daughter of Wilfred Tipton, the owner of the Tipton Hotel. Although you never see Mr. Tipton, he is frequently mentioned. London is a dim-witted, spoiled, rich teenager with her own private suite at the Tipton Hotel in Boston, complete with a few closets (each with their own talking mirror) and a kitchen which takes up most of the floor. She transferred to the same private school as Maddie in the episode "Forever Plaid", due to poor attendance at her old school. In the episode "First Day of High School", London transfers to Zack & Cody's public school, due to being expelled from all of the private schools she had previously attended. She dislikes her step-moms and talks to Mr. Moseby and Maddie about her problems. When happy she usually claps her hands repeatedly while saying her catchphrase, "Yay me!" Though it seems like London may lead the ultimate rich-girl life, her childhood was not perfect. London Tipton is a parody of Paris Hilton.

Know the Stars - The Suite Life of Zack Cody - Disney Channel WorldMarion Moseby (Phill Lewis) is the somewhat-uptight manager of the Tipton, who speaks with a wide vocabulary and an urbane vernacular but is often annoyed by the twins' schemes. Though he acts as though he does not care about the boys, he actually has a great deal of affection for them. For example, when they went to the baseball game and he caught a ball for Cody, ultimately making him the most "hated man in Boston". In the episode "The Ghost of 613", it is revealed that he started out at the Tipton as a bellhop back in the 1970s.

Know the Stars - The Suite Life of Zack Cody - Disney Channel WorldCarey Martin (Kim Rhodes) is a headlining singer at the Tipton as well as the mother of Zack and Cody. She is a divorced mother, wise, kind, but somewhat aggressive towards the twins when they misbehave. She seems to love the twins a lot. Arwin Hawkhauser has a crush on her. She has a younger sister. She often dreams about George Clooney. Carey found her talent for singing by mistake when she was at a talent show doing stand-up comedy. She tries to keep the boys away from trouble, but she never prevails. Later in the second season, she changed her hair color from blonde to reddish-brown multiple times. As of Season 3, she has kept her brown hair and pulled her hair back in a small ponytail. When she is trying to teach the boys a lesson (or in some cases, other characters) she uses a story from her past, which is always boyfriend related, leading to Zack and Cody or the other characters groaning.

  • Wilfred Tipton (voiced by Jeff Bennett) -- He is the owner of the Tipton hotel and father to London, and has not actually appeared (although his voice was heard in Not So Suite 16 and Lip Synchin' in the Rain). It is not actually clear how he became the owner of the Tipton, because London mentions many times that her father bought the hotel. Though in a couple episodes, it is said that Tipton's ancestors owned the hotel first before he did. This may yet be another example of London's ignorance. His hand was once seen in the episode Lip Synchin' in the Rain and on his hand was a ring with a large dimond.
  • Nia Moseby (played by Giovonnie Samuels) It is possible that Nia has replaced Maddie's role, seeing that she is with London and London's expulsion leads to her being with Nia. She is Mr. Moseby's niece. She has a part-time job at the candy counter, filling in for Maddie during her absence. Her purpose for staying at the Tipton for the summer is so Moseby can get her to behave like a proper girl. One of Nia's aunt's named Aunt Lilly was to make her behave like a proper girl, but she couldn't stand Nia so much that she changed her name and moved to Alaska. According to Mr. Moseby, she was expelled from her last school for fighting. In "First Day of High School", she defended Zack from a jock.

In the episode It's a Mad, Mad, Mad Hotel, Esteban harbors a desire to manage the Tipton. He originally came to the United States to be a baseball player, but became a bellhop because he wasn't very good at it. It is also shown that he has a picture of Carey in his office that lights up when he claps his hands, as well as a cardboard cutout of her. Arwin was a professional bowler, illustrated in Bowling. He also is known for being obsessed with his mother, probably because he lives with her. He stopped bowling because his mother's obsessive cheering made him nervous in competition and accidentally threw the ball and it hit her head.
  • Patrick (played by Patrick Bristow) — The maître d' for the Tipton Hotel's restaurant. One of the most sarcastic characters on the show, he treats everyone with disdain, especially Zack and Cody. He has a girlish shriek. the episode Heck's Kitchen). Due to London's generous tips, Patrick has been able to afford a foreign sports car. (indicated in Twins at the Tipton). However, Mr. Moseby claims that Patrick wrecked it by crashing into fellow waiter Rich, and when the ambulance showed up, another fellow waiter Gary got hit by the ambulance so Mr. Moesby had to take Patrick's place at the Tipton Restaurant. His Favorite Musical is Bye Bye Birdie as revealed in "Birdman of Boston", In the episode Aptitude he asks for a new Podium because his old one is falling apart and Mr. Moseby wont give it to him until the end of the episode.

He only talks about water, causing Maddie to dump him. They are still friends, however. Lance showed Maddie how to do CPR in Rumors, is a lousy ballroom dancer in Loosely Ballroom, tried to resuscitate several people who called for help, without realizing they weren't drowning in Nurse Zack and is a bad actor in Back in the Game. • Irene (played by Sharon Jordan) — The concierge for the Tipton Hotel, she usually is seen in the background during scenes in the lobby but in Boston Tea Party, she gets her first speaking part and in That's So Suite Life of Hannah Montana she told Raven that her flight has been canceled. In Health and Fitness she was waiting in line for the cholesterol test and Mr. Moesby let her in front of him. In Nurse Zack she sabotaged Maddie's candy travel cart and Maddie alludes to Irene not having very many speaking parts by replying "It's always the quiet ones". She is also mentioned in the episode Moseby's Big Brother

  • Chef Paolo (played by Jerry Kernion) — The Tipton chef seen in two episodes: Heck's Kitchen and Health and Fitness. He gets mad easily when people insult his cooking, and he usually just walks out of the kitchen. Apparently, his blood was so bad they found bacon bits. Likewise Cody idolizes Paolo.
  • Millicent (played by Kara Taitz) is Maddie's replacement at the hotel's candy counter for while she's at camp. She acts very scared all the time and is easy to change her mind about something.
